Mosaic Workshops

This year I am organising some mosaic workshops.

They will follow a similar format to the mosaic workshops I conducted last year to co-incide with with the SALA festive. That is working with a small group so that each person can have an opportunity to learn at their own pace. This means that everyone can work on their own project, and the whole group is not completing the same design. The main advantage of this for the participants is to see a variety of different things happening during the workshop.

Topics covered will be:

Working with a variety of materials. These can include Tiles, glass beads, found items, precut mosaic glass, etc. I will also explain Cutting and shaping of ceramic tiles.

Please note: the facilities at this workshop will not cover glass or glass cutting.

Design and style tips. Specifically, how to make your designs pop with the use of flat colour, how to make shapes more defined, how grout lines work as a design tool, how to achieve 3D imagery, colour and integrating grout colours into design.

Grouting techniques will cover how to grout flat objects as well as 3D objects, multiple grout colours. How to make your grout work for you.

Come and learn from an experienced artist all the tips and tricks to make your projects look amazing and expand the range of effects you can create.

Bookings and dates:

At the stage the first one is scheduled for Sat February 3rd, already sold out. It will be held at Mclaren Unvaled, 122 Main Rd. Mclaren Vale. More information can be found at Eventbrite for bookings for April 6th session, to be held at Mclaren Vale. Sessions run for 4 hours and cost $75 per person, including some basic materials.

I will also be conducting a slightly different format of the mosaic workshop at the Craft and Quilt Fair on Friday 22nd March. Bookings can be made through the link.

Further details and future dates will be updated on the news page as they come to hand or you can follow me on facebook

A self employed artist living in idyllic Sellicks Beach in South Australia. Working in fused glass, mosaic, fabrics and printmaking. A variety of art is being sold around Adelaide, online and through exhibitions and workshops. There is a strong link between all art that is created and the natural environment. Having beautiful items in your home will enhance your quality of life and health. Buying local keeps local people employed, supporting artists creates stronger communities.

Hi, I’m interested to book into the June workshop but have a question about whether you have a refund policy on the ticket price, and if so, what are the details?
Thankyou,
Sophi

Hi Sophi, I do not normally refund tickets, but they can be transferred to another person or in some cases I can transfer to another date depending on the circumstances and amount of notice. I try to accommodate people wherever I can but I do have to commit to certain costs to run the workshops.
If you have any further queries please let me know.
Thanks Kay
